GORKHPUR: The district court in Gorakhpur on Wednesday ordered the Cantonment police to register an FIR against five people, including BJP MP from Bansgaon, Kamlesh Paswan, in a case of alleged land grabbing. The chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Yasmin Akbar directed station house officer Cantt police station to register a case, start probe and submit a copy of FIR in court.

The court issued the order on a petition filed under section 156(3) by Narendra Pratap Singh, a resident of Pratap Market, Golghar, under Cantt police station, who said that his land in Golghar area had been encroached upon and even a complex Baldev Plaza constructed on it.
Narendra submitted that Sudha Prasad, wife of Late Yogendra Prasad, and her sons Kaustubh Prasad and Kandarp Prasad, residents of A-92 Neetibagh, New Delhi, tried to prove ownership of the said land with forged documents, however, during investigation in 1999, SDM Mukesh Kumar Meshram found that in revenue records the land was registered in name of petitioner’s father Fuddi Singh.
Sudha, Kaustubh and Kandarp illegally sold the land to Satish Nangalia and MP Kamlesh Paswan, partners in firm M/s Krishna Developers, who then sold the shops in Baldev Plaza. The petitioner had informed police but no action was taken.
When the court sought details from Cantt police station, it was told that no case has been registered in this context. Admitting the petition, the court directed the SHO to register a case and submit copy of FIR without delay.
When questioned, BJP MP Kamlesh Paswan said, “We will challenge the CJM order in high court. The case is of 2015 and Narendra Pratap Singh has claimed ownership of the land. We will also file a defamation case against Narendra.”
