Conwomen ‘hypnotise’ woman, flee with cash and jewellery
Lucknow: A woman lodged a complaint at the Ghazipur (Indiranagar) police station on Sunday against an unidentified conwoman for allegedly ‘hypnotising' her and making off with cash and jewellery. In her complaint, Soni Srivastava, a resident of Ashok Vihar, Ismailganj, said that two women came to her house seeking donations in the name of Sai Mandir. She gave them Rs 10 as a donation. The women then asked for more money and some rice, convincing her that they would ward off evil spirits and bring prosperity to her household. Soni, influenced by their claims, handed over Rs 20 and some rice. One of the women then wrapped a cloth around her head and instructed her to place it on her forehead.Soon after, Soni said she lost consciousness. When she regained her senses, she found that her ornaments and cash were missing."The police registered a case based on CCTV footage and are searching for the accused women," said ACP Ghazipur (Indiranagar), Anindya Vikram Singh.
