Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath held a roadshow in support of BJP candidate Niladri Shekhar Dana in Bankura, West Bengal, for the Assembly polls. He accused the Congress, TMC and communist parties of weakening Bengal’s identity, once known as the cultural capital of the country.Calling the UP CM “Bulldozer Baba”, people greeted him with slogans like ‘Dekho Dekho Kaun Aaya, Sher Aaya, Sher Aaya, Yogi Ji Suswagatam’, ‘Ek Hi Naara, Ek Hi Naam, Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’, a party source said.

During the roadshow, the CM sought support for the BJP candidate. “A massive crowd turned up along the route, with women and children standing on rooftops on both sides of the road to catch a glimpse of CM Yogi Adityanath. As his convoy passed, many greeted him with folded hands. The CM waved back, while people also took pictures of him,” said a BJP spokesperson.At the end of the roadshow, the CM interacted with voters and thanked them for the grand welcome. He said, “Amar Sonar Bangla, now a TMC-free Bengal. The enthusiasm across Bengal indicates that the BJP’s lotus will bloom on May 4.”Yogi said that the BJP stood for security, employment for youth, fair prices for farmers’ produce, safety for women, preservation of heritage and accelerated development through a double-engine govt.
