Computer parts shop in Naza market vanishes overnight with goods worth Rs 50 lakh
Lucknow: In an intriguing case, a fully functional computer parts shop in Hazratganj’s busy Naza Market vanished overnight — along with goods worth nearly Rs 50 lakh — leaving 35 traders stunned and chasing shadows.
The shop, operating under the name Icon Computers, appeared in Nov 2025 inside Bhopal House, Lalbagh. Run by two men posing as traders from Rajasthan — Kanaram Manaram Choudhary and Dheeraj Khemaram Choudhary — the outlet quickly blended into the thriving electronics hub.
The duo began by purchasing goods in cash, slowly building credibility. Soon, they shifted to credit deals, placing larger and more frequent orders. With trust firmly established, they executed their final move — lifting high-value computer components on credit from multiple shopkeepers — and then, without warning, shut shop and disappeared.
By the time suspicion arose, Icon Computers became a ghost address. Around 35 traders — including Upkar Singh, Harsh Bansal and Subhash Chandra — have reported losses.
The documents submitted by the accused — Aadhaar, PAN and even driving licences — are now suspected to be forged, hinting at a deeper, organised fraud network.
Traders claim that nearly 35 businessmen in Naza Market have been affected by the fraud. The accused are also believed to have operated with the help of 5-10 unidentified accomplices, suggesting the possibility of a wider organised network.
Police registered an FIR on charges of cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust against Kanaram Manaram Choudhary and Dheeraj Khemaram Choudhary.
Police sources said efforts are underway to trace the accused, who are believed to have provided addresses in Rajasthan, including Kota and Rajkot, and frequently changed identities and contact details to evade detection.
