Chief minister Mayawati has expressed grief over the death of former minister Gauri Shankar and a senior IAS officer Vinod Vihari Singh Vishven.

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Mayawati has expressed grief over the death of former minister Gauri Shankar and a senior IAS officer Vinod Vihari Singh Vishven.
The chief minister, on getting the news of sudden demise of Gauri Shankar, visited his residence here on Sunday and placed a wreath on his mortal remains. In a condolence message, Mayawati said Gauri Shankar was a popular leader, who was elected legislator several times and later became a minister.

She said the Bahujan Samaj movement has received a severe blow in his death. Gauri Shankar, 62, died of cardiac arrest on Saturday.
Mayawati has also condoled the death of a senior IAS officer Vinod Vihari Singh Vishven, currently posted as principal secretary, forests. Vishven, 54, died of cardiac arrest here on Sunday morning. Mayawati in her message said that Vishven was a hardworking and competent officer who always discharged his duties with honesty and dedication. She has conveyed her sympathies to his bereaved family members.
