'Chinese meters not defective'

LUCKNOW: The Chinese electronic meters are not defective as claimed by some people, said chief general manager, Lesa, RK Ram. He said that on the complaint that the Chinese electronic meters were running fast and giving erroneous reading, the Lesa authorities on random basis dismantled six such meters from the consumers houses and sent them for checking at Central Power Research Institute, Bhopal.He said that after special checking, the meters were found as per standards.
He said that it was not correct to say that these meters run fast or give incorrect reading. The power used by consumers is recorded hundred per cent by these meters. He has appealed to the consumers to cooperate with the Lesa in installing electronic meters.
