BSP MLA Mukhtar Ansari suffers heart attack in UP jail, hospitalised

LUCKNOW: Jailed gangster and Mau Sadar MLA Mukhtar Ansari on Tuesday morning suffered a heart attack. The mafia-turned-politician who is facing multiple criminal trials for killings, robbery and other serious charges was lodged in Banda jail.
On Tuesday morning Mukhtar's wife Afsa had also come to meet her. The five time MLA is in late 50s and collapsed on the ground.
Banda jail medical staff rushed him to the district hospital. However as his condition was serious, doctors referred him to Kanpur.
ADG law and order, Anand Kumar said, "We got the news through Banda police. Report has been sought from Banda jail authorities. Ansari will be given proper care and is being escorted to Kanpur," said Kumar.
Meanwhile disturbed by her husband's deteriorating health, Mukhtar's wife Afsa too collapsed on the ground. She too was put an ambulance after she complaint of chest pain.
Brijesh Jaiswal, a close aide of Ansari family who was at Banda hospital said, "We got a call about the attack in the morning. Some people were saying MLA had complaint in the past about uneasiness but jail authorities did not act. However, we are yet to find out what exactly happened and are waiting for him to recuperate."
