Boy drowns in rainwater filled trench

Lucknow: A four-year old boy died after falling in a trench, which was filled with rain water, near PGI police station area, on Saturday. The deceased, Rajiv Nath, lived with his parents in Bangali Tola locality.
On Saturday morning, Rajiv left his house along with his older siblings to attend nature's call. On the way, he fell into a dug-up hole which was filled with rain water.His siblings ran towards their house to get some help. However, by the time they returned with their family, the toddler had died of suffocation.
"The family did not inform the police about the boy's death, so the police did not know of the incident." said the police. tnn A police spokesperson said the family buried the boy's body and when the police reached the location Rajiv's parents requested them to not initiate any legal action in the case.
