LUCKNOW: At least 24 bike-borne miscreants lobbed six crude bombs in broad daylight at a house in Sahara Grace Apartments in Jankipuram here on Sunday. The attack has stunned the residents as they fear the goons could return and cause harm to them next.
Suman Singh, who runs an NGO and is associated with BJP women’s wing, was catching up with her family for lunch at 2.50pm, when she heard some noise outside her house.
Before she could check, six crude bombs were thrown at the main door. Suman and her businessman husband Ashok were stunned while the miscreants fled.
After the attack, the family’s neighbors too came out to enquire. Ashok Singh informed police on phone about the incident. The couple’s daughter Kavya Singh (25) rushed inside the house to check the CCTV footage to check out the miscreants.
As soon as police arrived on the spot, residents in the vicinity gathered outside the family’s house. When police enquired the family denied having enemies. A resident of the area Ashutosh Chaubey said, “Such a brazen act has instilled fear in our minds about security. This was a daring act and police must arrest the culprits.”
Police took the CCTV footage and are examining it to identify the miscreants.
According to Jankipuram police station inspector Ram Naresh Yadav, “We have taken the family’s complaint and FIR will be lodged. The family denies having enemies, so reason behind the attack remains uncertain.”
Kavya Singh said, “We could not identify any of the miscreants captured in the CCTV camera.”
