BMW Speed Motorwagen win on a day of close encounters

Lucknow: BMW Speed Motorwagen finished their league campaign on a high with a 4-1 win over Jugal Kishore Nawabs and put them in semi-final contention in the Awadh Golf League, on Sunday.
BMW Speed Motorwagen’s Rajkumar Sonkar won his fourth consecutive game to lead the charge up the Group C leaderboard on a day of close matches.
The team etched out a win with Divij Narain and Durgesh Kumar snatching victory from the jaws of defeat by winning their final three holes to go from two holes down with three to play to register a win.
SAS Fairway Kings continued their winning streak against IPL Warriors and Lagaan of Cawnpore reversed Saturday’s result with a 3-2 win over Mauribagh Kings. The captains for both SAS Fairway Kings and IPL Warriors, Zoheb Hasan Siddiqui and Sandeep Das, managed comfortable wins after the singles matches ended with one point to each. Lagaan of Cawnpore shrugged off their slow start and halfway through the match, a clean sweep seemed possible. However, Mauribagh Kings clawed their way back into the match and finished with two last hole wins.
The final round of league matches will be played on March 2-3 when four semi-finalists will be decided. Group A & B will compete in a double header over the two days. Eight teams will qualify for the Plate quarter-finals. The event is powered by Halwasiya Group.
