BJP does not abide by Ambedkar’s Constitution, against social justice: Akhilesh
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday accused the BJP of not abiding by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s Constitution and alleged that it is conspiring to destroy the sanctity of democracy and the Constitution.
“The BJP wants to hatch conspiracies to destroy the sanctity of the democratic set-up in India. They are making a mockery of the democratic system and do not believe in the country’s Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar,” Akhilesh said, addressing workers at the party office in Lucknow.
Akhilesh said SP’s PDA, comprising Pichhde (backward classes), Dalits and Alpsankhyaks (minorities), would confront the BJP’s designs and defeat the party on all fronts. “BJP knows this, which is why they are panic-struck, and the growing unity of PDA has added to their concerns,” Akhilesh said, calling upon the cadre to beware of BJP’s conspiracies and stay clear of any traps that the govt may throw at the opposition ahead of the elections.
“Once Samajwadi Party forms the govt after the 2027 assembly elections, PDA will get its share, rights and honour,” Akhilesh said, adding that SP would ensure social justice in letter and spirit. The former UP CM said SP’s aim was to set up a state where social justice was a norm and not like the BJP, which was opposed to the very concept of social justice. “BJP is against social justice,” Akhilesh said.
Akhilesh said the BJP has destroyed the state, and nothing explains this better than rampant unemployment and price rise, which are at their peak. “BJP destroyed the electricity sector, and people are fed up of prepaid meters. SP is with the people who find themselves at the receiving end of the exploitation being meted out in the name of prepaid meters,” Akhilesh said.
The SP chief alleged that prepaid meters were another mode that the BJP govt devised to hoodwink poor consumers. “Earlier, they did the same thing with the farmers in the name of nano urea by reducing the net content of the fertilisers in every bag without informing the farmers. Now, power consumers find themselves at the receiving end,” the SP chief said.

My deepest condolences. Heartfelt tributes,” Akhilesh said in a statement on Sunday.
