Bizman run over, crushed under SUV for 25 minutes during fight in Lucknow complex; 2 held
LUCKNOW: A businessman was brutally run over with an SUV and pinned under its wheels for nearly 25 minutes during a violent altercation at Summit building in Lucknow’s Vibhuti Khand area late Thursday night, police said. “Two accused, identified as residents of Uttarakhand, have been arrested, and the SUV used in the crime has been seized. Raids are on to nab the remaining accused,” said Amar Singh, SHO, Vibhuti Khand.
The incident occurred just a few steps away from a police outpost, raising serious questions over public safety in the area. The matter came to light on Sunday after an FIR was registered on Saturday. The attack took place inside the Summit Building complex, where the complainant had gone for a party with friends. According to police, the businessman tried to intervene when a group of youths traveling in a SUV and another car were seen arguing in the parking area around 1 am.The eyewitness said the situation escalated after the victim attempted to pacify the youths, who allegedly turned violent, assaulted him, and tried to snatch a chain from one of his friends. When the victim resisted, the accused rammed the SUV into him and attempted to flee.
As security guards tried to shut the gate to stop the vehicle, the accused allegedly reversed the SUV and deliberately ran over the victim, pinning both his legs under the wheels. The SUV remained stationary on his legs for about 25 minutes, during which he screamed for help. His friend was allegedly beaten with belts when he tried to intervene.Police personnel from the nearby outpost reached the spot, and with the help of locals, they pulled the victim out from under the vehicle and rushed him to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
