Atif Aslam's concert nixed

Lucknow: The district administration has refused permission to a programme featuring Pakistani singer Atif Aslam on the grounds of security. The programme was to be held at Smriti Upvan in Aashiana on Sunday.
Additional district magistrate (East) Nidhi Srivastava said as per a police report, a programme on de-addiction was underway at the same venue where 30,000 people were expected and permission for another programme at same venue could not be granted.
The organiser of the programme, Somnath Adhikari, said Atif's programme was based on Indo-Pakistan friendship and they would seek permission for it again. tnn
