Armed robbers loot petrol pump at gunpoint

Lucknow: Five armed robbers allegedly stormed into a petrol pump late Monday night in the Mahigawan area, and held the watchman at gunpoint before fleeing with cash and valuables, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place at Kamla Fuel Connect Petrol Pump under the jurisdiction of Mahigawan Police Station.

According to police, the robbers, armed with weapons, barged into the petrol pump premises at night and allegedly held the watchman hostage before carrying out the loot. The accused reportedly broke open the cash counter lock and escaped with cash, a mobile phone, wristwatch and purse, police said.

“On receiving information, teams from the local police station rushed to the spot and began an investigation. CCTV footage from the petrol pump and nearby areas is being scanned to identify the accused,” police added.
