LUCKNOW: Agricultural production commissioner (APC) Anis Ansari's wife Asma Hussain defended her husband for the fashion event organised at their official residence on Wednesday.
No sooner the "fashion event" was flashed on various TV channels from APC's residence, Ansari was removed from the post on Wednesday night by the CM for alleged violation of service rules.

A show cause notice was issued to him with a week's deadline after which the CM would take a final decision.
The ladies tea party on a Victorian theme was organised by Hussain to celebrate "spring and oncoming summer", according to the invitation bearing the name and designation of her husband. A fashion show, games and selection of the "spring queen" were the events at the party attended by prominent Lucknowites.
When contacted by TOI, Hussain said tea parties by the ladies club of IAS officers' wives, was routine.
"This time it was my turn. I invited friends, relatives and also a few prominent personalities including the lady vice-chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University," she said, clarifying that it wasn't a commercial event as claimed by a section of the media as all the participants in the show were from her family.
"My husband was in no way involved in organising the party and nor did he attend the function," she said, adding she was into fashion designing for no less than 13 years and had organised a number of commercial events in the past.
"My fashion institute is not in dearth of money nor do I have an identity crisis that I'll use my husband's name to organise a commercial event," Hussain said.
