AKTU partners with Siemens AG; students to get international exposure
Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University has partnered with Siemens AG, a leading German technology company, to provide students with international exposure and industry-oriented training. The collaboration is aimed at preparing AKTU students to become job-ready for global industries, including opportunities within Siemens itself.
Under the partnership, Siemens professionals will train AKTU teachers, who will then pass on that knowledge and practical skills to students. This train-the-trainer model is expected to strengthen technical education and improve student readiness for multinational companies.
According to AKTU UG dean academics, Centre of Advanced Studies, Anuj Sharma, this is the first time the university has entered into such a major partnership with a global technology giant.
“Siemens is a world leader in industrial automation, digital twin technology, software, and plays a major role in driving digital transformation through its ‘Xcelerator’ platform. Its major business units include Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Mobility. The initiative will especially benefit engineering students pursuing BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and BTech in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering,” he said.
According to university teachers, the tie-up will help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. It is also expected to improve student employability and encourage research and innovation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the Internet of Things.
Through strategic collaborations like Siemens Research and Innovation Ecosystems and Centre of Excellence initiatives, the university also hopes to upgrade its technological infrastructure and align its curriculum with current industry trends, making students better prepared for the demands of the global job market.
