AIDS awareness through slides

LUCKNOW: To take the awareness about AIDS to another level, Raza Murad, noted film personality, inaugurated AIDS message slides today. These slides that are being sponsored by an NGO, Aware N AIDS, will be shown in all the city cinema halls.
Talking about the need for educating the public, Murad said that we must not focus on AIDS on AIDS day only as it was a perennial problem.He was also of the view that by showing these slides in the movie theatres, the message can easily reach the youngsters and the lower strata of the society.
Jitendra Yadav, general secretary UP of Aware N AIDS, said that they later plan to take the messages to television also. He said, “we are confident that our campaign will pay off.�
Raza Murad also went out on the road to talk to the truck drivers and the rickshaw pullers about the menace of AIDS, “It is the biggest villain of the century,� he said.
He also distributed pamphlets that had information about AIDS, the precautions, and the taboos that are usually associated with the disease.
