LUCKNOW: The Jan Lokpal Bill drafted by Team Anna has got huge support in Congress president Sonia Gandhi's parliamentary constituency Rae Bareli. According to the results of the referendum conducted by the members of India Against Corruption (IAC), activists claimed that 99.5% people have voted for Anna's bill. Sonia Gandhi or her party in the upcoming polls, if the Congress-led UPA government fails to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the winter session of the Parliament," an IAC activist claimed.
"Just 5% of the people were of the view that they would continue to support Sonia Gandhi and her party even if the Jan Lokpal Bill is not passed during the winter session of Parliament," they added.
The question asked in the referendum was "Whether you will vote for MP Sonia Gandhi or her party, if she or the Congress opposes the Jan Lokpal bill?"
Around 1.40 lakh referendum forms were distributed, of which around 1.07 lakh people responded till November 4.
Out of this over 1.06 lakh people supported Anna.
