5 arrested for duping youth

SSP STF Abhishek Singh told TOI that the gang had created fake websites of departments and organisations with a slight change in name to dupe people. STF was handed the probe after several complaints of youths being duped came.
STF sleuths put the cell numbers of suspects on surveillance. "We traced their location near Sapna Sweets trisection on Sunday and raided the place and nabbed five while six others fled in an SUV," added Singh.
Dhirendra Kumar Gupta of Gomtinagar, Digvijay Singh of Jankipuram, Ravikant Sharma of Meerut, Girijashankar of Chinhat and Vashishth Tiwari of Indiranagar were arrested while Manvendra of Etah, Sarvjeet of Bihar, Girish Verma of Ambedkar Nagar, Sanjeev Mishra of Jaunpur and Ankit of Bijnor fled.
STF recovered 50 blank cheques, 100 certificates, admit cards, 10 phones, two Aadhaar cards, five ATM cards, three SUVs and Rs 8,140 in cash from the accused. The gang had fleeced 200 youths recently, said police.
