NEW DELHI: Three individuals, including a woman, lost their lives and one person sustained critical injuries in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a container truck on the Aligarh-Kanpur highway near Jalalpur Panwara, police said on Wednesday.
According to Circle Officer (City) Kamlesh Kumar, the incident occurred on Tuesday night near the Pal crossing, when the motorcycle carrying four people collided head-on with an oncoming container truck. The impact of the collision caused the motorcycle to catch fire after being dragged a short distance by the truck.
The deceased have been identified as Rajni (27), Tinku Jatav (50), and an unidentified male, approximately 30 years old. Rajni’s husband, Guddu (32), a resident of Bhadar village, sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Medical College in Tirwa, Kannauj.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the group was returning from Makkapurwa village at the time of the accident.
The container truck has been seized, and further investigation is ongoing.
