Stray dogs get stuck to tar in Kozhikode
Kozhikode: Several stray dogs were trapped in spilled bitumen at Poolenkara near Pantheerankavu in Kozhikode on Tuesday evening. The incident reportedly occurred when bitumen brought to the area in cans for road-tarring works accidentally spilled and spread. At least nine stray dogs — including a few puppies — stepped onto the sticky tar and became trapped as it hardened around their bodies.

However, the rescue efforts have proved to be extremely challenging as thick layers of bitumen got stuck to the dogs' fur and skin. Efforts are continuing to rescue the trapped animals.
