KOZHIKODE: Rajya Sabha MP and veteran socialist leader MP Veerendra Kumar died on Thursday night. He was 84. The end came around 11pm at a private hospital here where he was rushed following a heart attack.
He had also served as a member of Lok Sabha and
Kerala assembly. He was representing LDF in the Rajya Sabha.
Veerendra Kumar was also known for his oratory and had several books to his credit.
He had served as a Union minister in the I K Gujral government.
During the E K Nayanar government of 1987, Veerendra Kumar served as forest minister briefly. He was also managing director of Mathrubhumi Publishers.
