Woman tormented for ‘infidelity’
Kolkata: Police are probing a complaint against a Trinamool Congress ward coordinator in Diamond Harbour who allegedly tried to extort Rs 5,000 from the mother of a disabled boy.
The accused reportedly held a kangaroo court on Friday, threatened to tonsure the woman in her mid-40s who allegedly was seen in a compromising position with a man and directed her to pay a fine of Rs 5,000.

Fearing the torment, the woman fled home.
Diamond Harbour SP Abhijit Banerjee said it was a serious offence and the guilty would face action.
The accused could not be contacted. Local Trinamool Youth Congress leader Gautam Adhikari said he was unaware of the incident.
