KOLKATA: The problem of admission in undergraduate courses has its genesis in everyone preferring to tread on the beaten track. Students swarm usual courses and make them unsustainably competitive.The beauty of modern education system lies in its countless options and opportunities. Overseas education has been an encouraging proposition, but very few explore the alternative. One only needs to be a little adventurous to explore these less travelled paths.
On May 22, two ‘Mission Admission’ seminars will guide students on how to choose and explore an alternative career and to avail affordable overseas education courses.
The seminars, which will be held at Gorky Sadan, will begin at 9am and continue till 5:30pm. The first session will start at 9am and continue for an hour. It will be on ‘Opportunities in alternate careers’. Uma Gopalakrishnan of Admizzionz Campuz will share her experiences on alternative careers. The second session, which will be hosted jointly by Sabyasachi Sengupta and Ahana Mazumdar from NIFT, will be on career options in design followed by third session on healthcare.
The session will be addressed by Abdul Rashid from Fortis Healthcare. The final session will be on opportunities in travel and tourism. Shivani Vig from
Kuoni Academy will head the session.
After a 30-minute break, the second seminar will begin at 1:30pm where
Kaushik Mitra from Education Pathways India will talk on career opportunities abroad. There will be three separate sessions thereafter, one each on studies in Singapore, the US and the UK. Tricha Vatsa of SIM Global Education, Chandni Wadhwani from Education USA advisor
USIEF and
British Council’s
Indranil Ghosh will head these sessions, respectively.
