KOLKATA: Indian gamers cried Rang de and now theyre set to get it. San Francisco-based Zynga, the developer of Facebook application FarmVille, has announced they will put the Tricolour in the market.
Though the developers have taken a causal tone in Facebook, saying: Weve been seeing a whole lot of players asking fer (sic) the chance to proudly display their countrys flag in FarmVille.
Thats why this coming week, well be adding the Indian flag, they talk business on Twitter: In the spirit of diversity, were happy to announce that this coming week the Indian flag... will be in the market. Despite the masked message, this should be music to 40,000-odd virtual farmers.
The bone of contention has been the missing Tricolour in FarmVilles decoration section. Indians insulted by the snub had knocked on the companys doors for a month, only to ignored. After TOI published reports that were picked up by various websites worldwide, the developers seem to have changed tack in three days.
