Tapas Ray made TMC district prez

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress leader Tapas Ray was made the party’s Dum Dum-Barrackpore organisational district president on Wednesday. Ray, who was often at odds with the party’s LS leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, referred to his appointment as an “onerous responsibility”. This organisational district covers 14 assembly and two Lok Sabha seats. The party post had been lying vacant after its former incumbent Partha Bhowmik was made a state minister. tnn
