Some clouds, but no rain

KOLKATA: A partially cloudy morning on Wednesday raised hopes of relief but the clouds soon disappeared paving way for a hot and humid afternoon. Despite the presence of two low-pressure troughs, Kolkata and south Bengal will remain dry in the next 48 hours, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC). The mercury may drop a shade or two, though, under the influence of the troughs.City recorded a maximum temperature of 32.9 degree Celsius on Wednesday.
