case has taken a new turn with
Balurghat Police
booking Banerjee,
Mukul Roy, Archana Majumdar and Durba Sen under CrPC’s non-bailable sections.
Roy said he had never seen or talked to
Namrata Datta
, the Balurghat techie who lodged the rape complaint against Banerjee. “Neither do I know her nor have I meet her,” Roy said. “The police action has been prompted by political ill-will and has no grounds. They (Trinamool) know what I can do and are thus desperate to frame me,” he added.
The police action is based on a fresh complaint by Dutta filed on November 7 stating she was getting threat calls from unknown numbers. Banerjee, on the other hand, went to Garfa police station to lodge a case of criminal intimidation against Dutta the day he married his friend Durba Sen, claiming threats via SMSes.
