Nepal tourist gets back phone left in cab

Kolkata: A tourist from Nepal, who was on his first visit to Kolkata with his family, got back his expensive cellphone some time after he had left it in a cab on Friday. Kushan Sharma and his family went to Jagannath Ghat flower market near Howrah Bridge on Friday morning.
After getting off the cab, Sharma realised that he had left the phone inside the car. As the taxi went away, Sharma sought help from passers-by to get the phone back as it contained some important documents, including their tour itinerary and local contacts.
Around 1.30 pm, Souvik Chakraborty, an inspector from Howrah Bridge Traffic Guard, and Bidyut Biswas, a traffic sergeant, spotted Sharma in distress. Sharma recollected the last four digits of the cab’s number and the look of the driver. Cops then traced the vehicle near Calcutta Telephone Bhavan and retrieved the phone from its rear seat.
