KHARAGPUR: The family of IIT-Kharagpur engineering student Faizan Ahmed, who was found dead in one of the rooms of Lala Lajpat Rai Hall of Residence on Friday, has refused to accept that Faizan has died by suicide.
They reached Medinipur Medical College Hospital from Tinsukia on Saturday. His father Salim Ahmed, mother Rehana Ahmed, aunt Salma Ahmed, uncle Rashid Ahmed and another relative, Kamrul Ahmed, received the the body after a post-mortem.
"My son could not have died by suicide. He was a brilliant student. We spoke to him on Tuesday night but after that his phone was switched off," said Salim Ahmed. He claimed that Faizan was killed.
The body has decomposed and the face is swollen. Ahmed has requested CM Mamata Banerjee and the government to conduct a fair probe. The family has not lodged any complaint yet.
