Mukul Roy gets anticipatory bail with rider

KOLKATA: The Calcutta High Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail till March 7 to BJP leader Mukul Roy in a case pertaining to the murder of Trinamool’s Krishnaganj MLA Satyajit Biswas.
Roy can’t step into Nadia district, save to attend court hearings or to participate in the investigation process, the court ruled. The bench of Justices Joymalya Bagchi and Manojit Mandal also directed Roy to cooperate with the investigation and be present for interrogation.He has also been forbidden from intimidating witnesses or tampering with evidence.
The state will report to the HC on progress of investigation, including Roy’s cooperation, before March 5 when the matter comes up for hearing next.
