organisations walked in protest from Moulali to Park Circus on Thursday, while Congress took out a rally of its own against the law.

Left supporters held the march against BJP’s divisive game plan on a day Ashfaqullah Khan and Ramprasad Bismil had gone to the gallows during the freedom struggle. They pledged to oppose CAA-NRC on the grounds that it was aimed at reversing the spirit of the freedom struggle and the Constitution. Left organisers have been reaching out to people in municipal wards and at the block level before taking out the rally.

Pradesh Congress took out a rally with a large billboard showing the Constitution.
