Two vendors - Biplab Singha and Suman Hazra - laundered money for Sandip Ghosh and he took 20% commission on each tender, a CBI officer probing alleged financial irregularities by the arrested ex-principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has said. Singha and Hazra were arrested Monday, along with Ghosh.

The lady doctor died on August 9. I spoke to the parents of the deceased on the same day the incident happened, before going to their house they were given all the audio, video, CCTV footage so that they know everything. I clearly told them to give me time till Sunday, if we are not able to arrest everyone by then then, I will hand it over to CBI on Monday. The police caught the main accused in 12 hours, I told the police to go to the fast track court and apply for the death penalty but the case was handed over to CBI. Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government on Tuesday tabled the anti-rape Bill in the assembly which seeks to impose the death penalty on persons convicted of rape, if their actions result in the victim's death or cause her to become vegetative, and a life sentence for the rape and gang rape case.

A big step has been taken to serve justice to the daughter of Bengal when the CBI arrested Sandip Ghosh under the charges of corruption and financial irregularities. The BJP was alleging him of these charges from 2023. But no action was taken against him as he was getting protection from Mamata Banerjee's government.
