Kolkata cop creates green channel, drops examinee at centre

KOLKATA: An OC offered a lift to a Madhyamik examinee in his office vehicle on Saturday morning and created a special green channel for her to help her reach examination hall on time.
The OC of Howrah Bridge traffic guard, Souvik Chakraborty, saw Oishika Singh crying on Strand Road near Raja Katra as she was getting late for exam.
The candidate informed Chakraborty that her centre was Adarsh Shiksha Niketan in Shyambazar.She claimed that she was running late for the exam as there was none at her house to prepare food or drop her at exam centre from her Netaji Subhas Road residence. She also said that her parents and other relatives had left for their native village after her grandfather's death. The OC and his men then coordinated with the Shyambazar guard and created a special green channel to the girl's school.
"I kept telling her not to worry and to concentrate on her exam. After reaching on time, I also wished her good luck. The student thanked me for helping her to reach the exam centre on time," said Charaborty.
