Kidnapped 10-month-old rescued
Kolkata: A 10-month-old child from Jharkhand, who had reportedly been missing from a reception hall near Kalighat temple last Sunday, was rescued by cops from Sankrail’s Andul Road on Monday. Circulation the child’s photo on social media helped in the operation, police said.
Joint CP (crime) Sankha Subhra Chakrabarty said the child’s parents, Subhash Sahu and Khushbu Devi, were at a wedding at Bharat Sevashram Sangh, Kalighat, when an unknown person offered to hold the infant who was crying.

Around 4.30pm, Devi realized the child was missing. The parents lodged a complaint at Kalighat PS.
“The detective department checked CCTV footage and examined witnesses. The images showed the abductor taking the child in a rickshaw to Rashbehari crossing. He then got on a minibus to Howrah Station, where he boarded a bus to Dhulagarh. From there, he went to Andul. Howrah GRP and Howrah police commissionarate helped us,” Chakrabarty said.
A couple had noticed the child and informed cops. A police team recovered the abducted baby and handed over to his parents on Monday evening.
