Green corridor to hosp for pregnant woman

Kolkata: A pregnant woman, residing at Eden City in Maheshtala, was rushed to hospital through a green corridor created by southwest traffic guard after her water broke when she got caught in a major traffic jam near Sampriti flyover.On Friday, around 8.45 pm, an information was received that a pregnant woman, stuck in traffic jam on Budge Budge Road (West Bengal Police area) and travelling to hospital in a car was in labour pain.According to instructions from OC, sergeant Subrata Chowdhury located the vehicle on Budge Budge Road from Jhinjhira Bazar and started leading the car to reach Shishumangal Hospital in 26 minutes. “We created a green corridor for the same. She has given birth to a girl child and doctors said both mother and daughter were in good health. The family has expressed their gratitude to us,” said a senior officer at Lalbazar.“All ok. I reached the hospital on time just because of you all. Me and my daughter both are fine and in good health. Thank you very much,” said the new mother in a message to police. “Lalbazar arranged for us a sergeant who escorted us…the policeman was there with us till the hospital and made sure we admitted our friend on time. …Salute to our real-life heroes,” said Hiral Ashish Jayswal, a friend of the new mother.
