Delhi victim's body to be brought home
SUKHJORA (Bankura): Anshuman Pratihar's parents still have their eyes glued to the television set, hoping against hope that it would be broadcast soon that their son was alive. After all, no one not even the district administration has any news that their son was one of those killed during the Metro link collapse in Delhi on Sunday.
No one had the heart to tell the elderly couple that Anshuman's body would reach his native village of Sukhjora in Joypur block of Bisnupur subdivision for cremation on Tuesday.

Anshuman worked as a site engineer with Gammon India, the private contractors engaged by Delhi Metro. His cousin, Goutam Pratihar, got a call from a friend in Delhi, informing him about the 28-year-old engineer's death. He and a neighbour, Barachand Mondal, will bring the body back.
On hearing about the accident, the elderly couple stopped eating. "I have informed Anshuman's brothers and sisters about his death. They will come and tell their parents. I could not break the news," said Goutam.
Anshuman, a brilliant student since childhood, was the eldest son of his parents. He had joined Gammon India a few years ago after passing out from a state engineering college. His younger brother Koushik works in defence and is currently posted in Jammu. His two sisters are married and only his parents stay in Sukhjora. The latter have been told that one Anshuman Das was killed and their son was injured in the accident.
