KOLKATA: Two officers of Lake police station allegedly misbehaved and manhandled a medical representative when he reportedly sought help of cops following an accident.
Rajib Saha, a resident of Baghajatin, was passing through Dhakuria bridge along with his wife Kakali in his car on Friday evening. Moments before Saha reached there, three persons were injured in an accident which created a traffic mess when Saha reached there.

As soon as Saha stopped his car, a mini truck hit it from behind, which sparked an altercation between Saha and the truck driver. Saha demanded compensation but the driver refused. Saha then sought help of police. Cops allegedly did not pay attention and when he repeatedly asked for help, two officers of Lake Police station allegedly abused him and manhandled him. He even made a complaint with the divisional commissioner's office. The accused police officers and other cops present at the site
however denied the allegation. " He was demanding cash compensation from the mini truck driver. He sought help but police can't arrange such compensation. We asked him to report at police station and told him to remove his car from the place as it was blocking the entire traffic," said a police officer . The officer said that at that time due to traffic chaos they got delayed in removing the injured who were bleeding profusely.
Police alleged that Saha did not agree to remove his car which triggered an hot
an altercation but none manhandled him. DC Basab Dasgupta however assured to initiate a probe.
