Cop campaigns against Didi on FB, suspended
Kolkata: In a move to ensure neutral administrative conduct during the second phase of the Bengal assembly elections, Lalbazar has suspended a veteran Kolkata Police constable for political expression and sharing content on social media that can disturb communal harmony.
The suspension comes less than two weeks after police commissioner Ajay Nand issued a stern directive regarding digital behaviour of the force. In an official statement released via Facebook, the Kolkata Police confirmed the disciplinary measures and issued a broader warning to the force. tnn
