KMC polls

While Faiz Ahmed Khan, son of the minister Javed Khan, won by a margin of 62,000 votes, party veteran and MLA Swarnakamal Saha’s son, Sandipan Saha ,who was shifted to a Bypass ward from Janbazar in central Kolkata this time, achieved victory by a margin of around 42,000 votes.
Apart from Faiz and Sandipan, Ananya Banerjee, Susanta Ghosh and Bappaditya Dasgupta are some of the TMC candidates who have won the civic polls from the Bypass areas with a thumping victory.

polls when he had entered the fray as a debutante. “In 2015, I had managed to win the KMC polls by a margin of over 30,000 votes. This time the margin has gone up to 62,000. It is a matter for me to rejoice,” said Khan, whose father Javed Khan used to contest from the same ward in late 90s.
Susanta Ghosh, who was shifted from Ward 107 to 108, has managed to win the election by 16,000 votes. As a borough chairman (borough XII), Ghosh had set his vigil over large areas of Madurdaha, Bantala and its adjacent areas. “Our efforts to develop basic infrastructure and civic amenities have been rewarded. There is much more to do so that people get better civic amenities in the future,” said Ghosh.
Sandipan, who has managed to increase the margin of his victory from 15,000 in 2015 to 42,000 and set a new record in Tangra, credited the residents of Ward 58 for his success.
Ananya Banerjee, who fought 2015 KMC polls as a debutante, managed to increase her victory margin from 7,000 to 37,660 this time.
Bappaditya Dasgupta, who has won by over 19,000 votes, felt services rendered during Amphan and Covid led to his victory in Patuli-Baisnabghata.
