KOLKATA: Bidhannagar detective department has arrested a hundi trader in connection with online frauds carried out through BPO units. Almost 20 days ago, seven techies were arrested for running four BPO units in order to carry out online frauds against European software firms. The hundi trader used to arrange for the ill-gotten money to be brought to India from Europe through the Middle East and Bangladesh.

The cops have identified the accused as Sini Rajababu Sultan, alias Mohd Sultan, hailing from Tamil Nadu. He was picked up from Ganesh Chandra Avenue in central Kolkata on Tuesday night.
“We have been tracking a number of hundi and hawala traders based in Dharmatala, Ganesh Chandra Avenue and Burrabazar,” said an officer. Rs 1.50 lakh in cash and several incriminating documents, have been seized from Sultan.
