Bizman death: Cops yet to find who pulled trigger

Kolkata: The alleged girlfriend of the businessman, Arup Mondal, who was found dead with a bullet injury at Narendrapur on Sunday, and her cousin were arrested on Tuesday. But more than 48 hours after the murder, police are yet to determine who pulled the trigger. Investigators are not ruling out any possibility, including the involvement of a third person. The arrested woman, Priyanka Das, and with her cousin, were produced in Baruipur court and remanded in 10- day police custody. Preliminary post-mortem report indicated that the death was caused by a gunshot injury. The victim's brother, Swarup Mondal, stated that the family was cooperating with the investigation.Das has denied any involvement in the incident. She claimed she went to the flat with her cousin after hearing Arup scream on the phone. She told police she gave Rs 42 lakh to Arup for his business, from savings accumulated by her husband, a former Army personnel. She added that disputes over repayment often caused arguments between them.
