Bike-borne goons snatch phone off E M Bypass

Kolkata: An employee of a popular mall located on Prince Anwar Shah Road, Dipankar Roy (40), was robbed of his high-end mobile off the EM Bypass near Cosmos Nursing Home, by two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants early on Monday.Roy was returning home and was walking along the service road off EM Bypass when two men on a motorcycle approached him from the opposite direction. The accused, who had their helmets on to conceal their identity, also attempted to snatch his wallet."I was following my usual route home after getting off at Ajoy Nagar and taking the service road when the incident occurred," Roy told the cops. "The entire incident happened so quickly that I couldn't note the motorcycle's registration number or understand the identity of the perpetrators. They were also wearing helmets," he added.The Survey Park Police Station registered a case and launched an investigation. The stolen device's IMEI numbers were recorded to aid in tracking the phone and identifying the culprits.
