Bharati cries brick attack

Pingla: BJP Ghatal candidate Bharati Ghosh claimed on Saturday a brick had hit her head when she had gone to attend an arati at a math at Baikunthapur in West Midnapore’s Daspur on Friday night.
Ghosh said she heard some people scream and came out of the math to check. “Just then, some Trinamool men hurled bricks, one of which hit me on the head. I told police but they told me to go inside and sit.There is no law here. People will reply to this state of affairs.”
On Saturday, West Midnapore police submitted a report to DM and district election officer P Mohan Gandhi about the search on Ghosh’s car. The report claimed Rs 113,895 was found in her bag. They requested that the Election Commission probe the matter in light of EC no-rms that a candidate can possess no more than Rs 50,000 during the campaign.
