There were a number of celebrities who attended the programme including actor Madhabi Mukherjee, former Governor of West Bengal Justice Shyamal Kumar Sen, US consul general Jonathan Ward,
There was a carnival along with the cultural programmes which were hosted by artistes from Bangladesh as well from Kolkata. Even some students of Rabindra Bharati University also participated in the cultural programme.
There was a ferris wheel along with a bioscope and there was the different varieties of pitha puli to enthuse the Bengali tongue, which Kolkata dwellers hardly get a chance to satisfy their gastronomic. Even there were several other typical Bengali food for the guests.
M Iqbal, press secretary at the Bangladesh deputy high commission said that the show was kept open to all, keeping in mind that people in Kolkata cherish to witness the grand celebration of Poila Baisakh of Dhaka. He added that several students from Bangladesh who are studying in Indian universities in Kolkata also participated in the show.

Though a Muslim country, Bangla Desh right from the beginning followed the ancient Hindu customs. Its National song is that of Rabindranath Tagore.
