In a daring robbery , four unidentified men barged into the residence of an Afghan trader, who is residing in Kolkata for the past 12 years, and robbed him, his brother and two other guests.

KOLKATA: In a daring robbery, four unidentified men barged into the residence of an Afghan trader, who is residing in Kolkata for the past 12 years, and robbed him, his brother and two other guests. The incident took place on Friday evening in the busy Chandni Chowk area.
According to victim Sher Afzal Khan, it was around 8.45pm when he was on the second floor of his residence opposite the electronics market of Chandni Chowk.

“My brother Wahid Khan and two guests were having a conversation and preparing for dinner when we heard a knock on the door. We thought that our customer had arrived,“ Khan said.
As soon as Wahid opened the door, four men forcefully entered the room. Three of them were wearing masks, while the face of one was uncovered. The person without a mask was also reportedly carrying a gun with him. The four, all of whom were speaking Urdu, told the Kabuliwallahs to hand them over all the valuables. Khan said the accused knew they had a lot of cash at the residence.
“The accused tied our mouth and hands with lungis and took away Rs 80,000, a watch, two silver rings and two mobile phones,“ said Khan. Joint CP (crime) Vishal Garg said: “We have registered a case of dacoity and scanning CCTV footage. Either the accused were known to the victims or they had carried a recce of the area.“ The anti-dacoity cell of detective department and Bowbazar police are jointly probing the case.
