Kolkata: The final post-mortem report of 25-year-old actor
Pallavi Dey
, who was found dead at her rented apartment in Garfa last Sunday, has revealed that the death was due to “asphyxiation and hanging”. The report, claimed police sources, clearly stated that it was death due to suicide and no injuries were found on her body.
Police have now sent a requisition to the construction firm from whom
Pallavi and her live-in partner
Sagnik Chakraborty
, who was arrested on Tuesday, had bought a flat in the Rajarhat area. “While it has been established that Chakraborty’s father paid Rs 25 lakh for the flat nearly worth Rs 80 lakh, we want to ascertain who paid the rest. We want to examine the ledger details,” said an officer.
Cops stated that establishing the money trail has become all the more important since they could not trace any money being transferred from Pallavi’s accounts. The multiple transactions carried out on the bank accounts of Chakraborty and a certain account that he operated on behalf of his father, who has now emerged as the most crucial evidence in the probe, may provide some clues, felt cops.
On Wednesday, Chakraborty was produced in a Alipore court and the public prosecutor sought his police custody based on the grave charges brought against him. The court sent the accused to eight days of police custody.
