Acquaintance, his dad beat Malda 18-yr-oldto death

Malda: An 18-year-old student was beaten to death by an acquaintance and his father after he confronted them over the sending of allegedly vulgar texts in his name.Mirdadpur resident Sk Sohel, who recently took his Madhyamik, had been admonished by a girl's family after she received allegedly indecent messages from a Facebook profile that had his photo as the profile picture. Sohel, who denied having any knowledge about this, suspected Sk Amraj had used his photo and sent the texts.
On Sunday, Sohel went to Amraj's house to confront him. An altercation followed and according to police, Amraj and his father Sk Fijur attacked Sohel with rods and sticks. Sohel's mother was also assaulted when she tried to intervene, police said.An unconscious Sohel was taken to a local hospital before being transferred to Malda Medical College and Hospital. He was then taken to a Kolkata hospital, where he died on Tuesday night. Following this, Amraj was arrested while his parents are on the run, said SP Abhijit Banerjee.
