10 day theatre fest at Salt Lake

KOLKATA: Salt Lake''s theatre aficionados are happy. A 10-day theatre festival is currently on at the Vidyut Bhavan auditorium in Salt Lake.
The event is being organised by the Ajitesh Natya Academy in collaboration with the Bidhannagar municipality and Salt Lake leading fortnightly Laban Hrad Sangbad in memory of the legendary Ajitesh Bandopadhyay.
Renowned personalities like Usha Ganguly, Ramaprasad Banik, Swatilekha Sengupta, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Chandra Dastidar, Dolly Basu, Sohini Haldar and Kheyali Dastidar will don the greasepaint in popular plays like Marich Sangbad, Tin poishar pala, Manjari amer manjari and O amar sundari.
The organizers hope that theatre enthusiasts would support their efforts and help focus attention on the need for a theatre in Salt Lake on the lines of the Rabindra Sadan and the Academy of Fine Arts in the city. The festival ends on April 12.
