Man, dad booked for attacking trader

Kolhapur: The city police have booked a man and his son on the charge of beating up a young trader from the Gandhinagar marketplace.
According to the police, the man and his are — who are private moneylenders — had loaned Viki Makhija of Gandhinagar Rs 5 lakh at 15% monthly interest rate for business purposes. Shankar Makhija, Viki’s father, told the police that his son had paid Rs 30 lakh to the man as part of the repayment.He also claimed that they wanted Makhija’s plot of Rs 50 lakh because he claimed the loan amount was unpaid,which the complainant said was untrue.
